"Why is it that if I buy 2 each of a filter it costs more than a pair?"
If you need a pair of filters, it is less expensive to buy a "pair" than 2 of "each." The "each" price is higher than the "pair" price because single filters must be broken out of a pair and repackaged/relabeled.
