stainless sand filters

SandMaster Plus - stainless sand filters"Why would I need to use a Lakos SandMaster sand separator instead of a typical water filter?"
Lakos sand master stainless sand filtersLakos SandMaster separators use centrifugal action to remove debris heavier than water. Typical water filters can get clogged by sand, silt and grit. Using a circle motion, particles are thrown to the perimeter, fall and collect in chamber at the bottom of the unit. You may want use a 3/4" ball valve at the bottom to flush away (purge) the separated particles without having to replace any screens or cartridges.

Lakos Sand Master stainless sand filters"Why would I need to use the SandMaster Plus (304 stainless steel version) instead of the regular SandMaster?"
Lakos SandMaster stainless sand filters The SandMaster Plus is recommended for use in areas where corrosive water is a problem.

sand filters and separators"How do I select the appropriate SandMaster model for my water system?"
sand separators and filtersEach SandMaster model operates best within a specific flow range. You must determine your pump's actual flow rate.

If you have a valve between the pump and the pressure tank, open it fully and record the volume of water in one minute to determine gallons or liters per minute.

If you have no valve, follow these steps:
1. Immediately after your pump shuts off, open the faucet between the pressure tank and house (make sure no water is running), run water in to a container and record the Volume (gallons or liters) of water it takes for the pump to start again. (You may have to fill several containers.)
2. Record the length of Time it takes (in minutes) the pump runs before shutting off.
3. Divide Volume by Time to determine the actual flow rate (gpm or liter/minute).

We offer many thoughts (quotes) to ponder, such as:
