"What is the most common meter that you sell?"
For residential use, the M20USG is, by far, our biggest seller. Of course, with a large yard and sprinklers, etc then a larger meter such as the M41USG and M50USG might be needed.
"Why would anyone want these meters in cubic foot increments instead of gallon measurements?
Many are still in existence in cubic foot measurements and some water companies still use the cubic foot measurement instead of in gallons. We don't know why anyone would prefer it that way but, we do sell/offer them.
"Can juices, vinegar, salt water, etc be run through these water meters?"
These are great water meters but are only designed for cold, potable water. Running any other fluid through them is not recommended, would not produce an accurate reading and will void the warranty.
"Your prices on these are so low, are these meters very accurate?"
Absolutely and also note that these are not plastic bodied meters. These have a cast bronze housing. Precision meters are well known in the industry for their quality and accuracy. Please do be aware that for a flow rate of less than 2 gallons per minute, the above models do not meet the State of California's (the only state that we are aware of that even has such a thing and we are not aware of any meter that meets that requirement) low flow requirements for sub metering.
"I just received my water meter from you, installed it and it looks great. My only concern is that it looks like water is inside the register. Is that normal?"
It's perfectly normal (but an often asked question) with these great PMX models as they are multi-range meters with water lubricated type straight reading registers. They can be used for continuous service on flow rates up to its maximum ratings because of the water lubrication.
"Can I not use a union and install them with regular couplings or maybe use a soldered female adapter?"
You must use water meter unions on the 1/2"-1" models (most other brands will fit as well) because the threads (as with most brands of water meters) are non-tapered. The M60 and M80 do not require special meter couplings as those two models have standard female threads.
"If you have to use these water meters with unions, why do you even offer them both ways? Shouldn't you always sell/buy them with both unions?"
Because most water meter brands have the same sized unions, many people buy these great meters from us as replacements for other brands.
"What are the lengths of each meter listed?"
#WM-M20 is 7 1/2" long (face to face); #WM-M41=9"; #WM-M50=10 3/4"; #WM-M60=12 5/8"; and #WM-M80 is 15 1/4" long.
"I am looking for a water meter that I can install outside but read inside my house. Do you offer such a water meter?"
We do not offer any remote read water meters. The only water meters that we offer are on this page.
"Do I need unions to hook the M20USG to a garden hose?"
You need unions to go to pipe size and then use hose fitting adapters going from pipe fittings to hose size.
"What are the maximum number of gallons that the M20USG will register?"
One rotation of the hand equals 10 gallons. There are 6 moving digits, one "zero" printed on the face. One full revolution increases the last moving number one digit. In other words, the maximum number of gallons shown is 9,999,990 before turning back over to all zeros.
