Directions for using the Wassi Water Stopper
Works on Copper, PVC and Galvanized Pipe

	Insert cable into forward end of pistol grip.
	Push assembly completely into grip. Pull rear cable stop down into depression.
	Slide components to be soldered onto cable. Insert expansion end of cable into existing copper or plastic line. Make certain expansion seal is at least 6" from solder joint. Squeeze pistol grip until handle latches. Solder components.
When finished, unlatch by sliding handle to one side and pull cable from pipe.

"How long are the cables?"

The overall length is 20 inches, however the cable should only extend into the pipe approximately 12" to protect the plastic handle from coming into contact with the torch flame.

water stopper "Why do you caution against pressure buildup if water is just trickling out of the pipe?"
When the trickle is flowing free, there is no pressure. When it is plugged off, pressure will increase until it's equal to the supply pressure. The smaller the pipe, the faster the pressure will increase. Have everything ready to solder before you close the plug.

The plug should be at least 6 inches from the solder joint in order to prevent it from melting.

"My water is flowing more than a trickle. Will the Wassi water stopper halt the flowing water?"
It will for only a brief period of time. Pressure will build against the plug and eventually push it out with great force.

water stopper "How can I reduce the chance of pressure buildup against the plug?"
If there is a faucet, hose bibb, or any other way to release water/pressure between the seeping shut off valve and the plug, you can open it to keep pressure from building. If not, extreme caution should be taken.
